A disgrace to their community, which ever one that is, which I bet are overwhelming law abiding, tax paying with the upmost respect for the law and other citizens who would never dream of living a parasitic existence on public money while being heavily involved in criminality, engage in constant violence, domestic and otherwise, and who I'm sure contribute so much to this nation economically and culturally.

The OP is an example the the Garda are involved in quiet frequently

It never ceases to amaze me when I hear our opposition , helped by the media, ' rabbiting ' on about the low moral amongst Garda ranks when you consider the above report . During the middle of one of these highlighting ' the low moral amongst the Garda ranks' period, three incidents happened along the lines of the above report :- ie
(1) a senio Garda was threatened in his residence somewhere in Waterford. He challenged/ chased same and all were eventually caught. One sadly lost his life when he fell from a high fence
(2) A group which carried out a number of break-ins in the Galway area were nabbed at a check point or maybe toll area near dublin.
(3) a nasty burglary in Fethard, Tipperary, where family was tied up ended up with all burglars being caught approaching Dublin. The gang split into two but one part was caught going through a toll and the other part was caught going through Naas.

This kind of outcome is being achieved every day of the year and behind it is a lot coordination, quick thinking, networking , cooperation, risk taking, cooperation from the public, etc.
If all of the above is happening, which indicates to me that the Garda are doing a very good job, I wonder would all murders, robberies, etc be solved if moral was very high.
