unless you use the packing foam that it came in it will probably get smashed on the way back to amazon and then you will be fecked.

If you want a replacement, ask them to send you a brand new one before you send the faulty one back. They'll put a hold on your card for the amount of the replacement until they get the faulty one back, but at least then you can use the box from the new one.

amazon are usually quite good about stuff like this. they will send a replacement on the understanding that the product is faulty.

Powercity or similar places might have boxes. I am not sure if they are legally obliged to take back boxes but I do see people taking stuff out and leaving it behind, seems common practise. People do not want the hassle & expense of getting rid of packing. Maybe ring one and ask, they would probably be happy to put one aside and not have to pay to dispose of it themselves.

If you get one roughly the same size you might be able to get more packing and cut it to size to fill in any gaps where it needs support.

I thought Amazon provided for returns to an Irish address for Irish customers.
