So I'm in the market for a new tellybox and trying to narrow down the choices in the sea of technology that's out there. My basic spec would be 40 - 47 inch, Full HD, Smart TV with Saorview ideally under 450 euro or might push to 500 for a v good spec.

Along with the big name brands I found some lesser known / cheaper brands so I'm wondering if these are any good?

Hitachi 50 Inch Full HD Freeview HD Smart LED TV:

    BLAUPUNKT BLA40/133Z - LED 3D Smart TV:

Some brand called Walker I'd never heard of - annoyingly there's no prices on their site:

The Hitachi only has a refresh rate of 50 MHz, but the Blaupunkt seems to have a great spec including a refresh rate of 400 Hz. So:

    - Does anyone have experience of any of the above, or know of any other bargains going?
    - Do the Hitachi and Blaupunkt have Saorview?
    - Am I better waiting for the January sales?

    TIA

For 500 the best your going to do is something like this, which meets all your requirements,

The TV,s you linked too are all no name trash brands, and yes I,m including Hitachi in there as their TV tech is terrible.
With flat panel TV,s, there is a hell of a lot more to them than just size and resolution.
All the big players own all the big patents for video processing and scaling tech, they do not share, and without those on board picture quality is brutal.

You need to stick to the main players, that means the japanese and the koreans, so Panasonic, Sony, Samsung, and LG.

Dont be tempted to save 40 or 50 quid by getting one of your links, the money would last longer if you tossed it over a cliff.
