    This may be a stupid question, but does the new drivers license act as a form of identification to get into night clubs and such?

    Yes. now you don't need to carry your passport :D

    Depends on the nightclub, they're under no obligation to let you in. A drivers licence is also not accepted in some off-licences as the legislation only provides a defence where the retailer has requested a Garda Age card.

    I would suggest getting an Age card, carrying around your driver's licence/passport is never a good idea when you're out for a few drinks.
