    Hi all,

Looking to book a holiday for my partner and I to go to Venice in February. Feb 24 to Feb 28 is reasonable at at €141 per person, booking with Aer Lingus. That's flying to Venice Marco Polo airport. Was hoping that someone might have some suggestions for accommodation for the 4 nights. Nothing crazy expensive but would be willing to pay for a good location and a nice hotel. Also, is that airport the best option to fly into? Any help is appreciated.

Stayed in the Hotel Do Pozzi in October. Not too expensive - short walk from St. Mark's Square.

Thanks! Will look into it. Any idea what the weather is like in Feb? And also would you recommend anything in particular to do/see?

weather will be rainy and sunny sometimes, but bring a good rain jacket, and wellies cos the sea can come over and flood the whole area.
Another thing is its going to be busy. Venice is always busy, esp around valintines, so you could stay in Mestre a commuter train about 20-30 mins away by train. It is a lot cheaper, but its a pretty grim area. Plenty of museums and tis mardi gras time, people dress up in masks to drive away the evil spirits is happening around that time so ask at reception where the parades are. and they can give you up to date info.

Anyone ever book with low cost holidays? Flights for 2 and 4 nights accommodation in Do Pozzi for €438. Almost seems too good to be true.

I've booked with lowcost before (not to Venice) and got good prices. Did you price it separately yourself and see what sort of price you can get?

Everyone wants to stay right beside st marks.

But my advice is dont worry about where you stay in Venice.
Its a very small city and the vaporetta is very easy to use and no matter where you stay youll be buying the tickets for it anyway.
The best thing to do is to just womble around in no particular direction.
