    Is it pheasant season?

What other things are around and what would be the best way to find pheasants?

I've often come across them when they're very close but there always hiding it seems.

I'm always out with my dog in the morning and night in the countryside. It seems the wildlife do a great job of avoiding/hiding from humans.

    Thanks.

The clue to your difficulty might be the presence of your companion...:)

I take my dog on daily walks and regularly come across pheasant, snipe, and duck. The hedgerows are full of birds. Foxes are to be seen if you know where to look. If near the shore you can see large flocks of wintering waders. Geese and swans are around in large numbers.
There is plenty of nature to be seen at the moment. If you're just taking a walk and want to see some wildlife then certainly take your dog and your binoculars. Just make sure the dog is under control at all times.

Yeah, the dog is usually quite and fairly close. I have the binoculars in the car now. :)

    Thanks.
