Quite an odd title for the thread, but it will match my new strategy of speculation mainly for entertainment reasons...

    Here's the plan:

    1. Starting bank of €200 with Plus 500.
    2. Every month I deposit €100 - €150 and open positions on leverage with a total exposure up to and around €3,000
    3. Put in some stop losses at points to be determined!

Today I put my first on and it's short 50 shares of IYR @ €76.40.

    Updates to follow!

    Quick update here.

Closed my IYR position on St. Stephen's Day at $77.94 for a loss of €103.

Bought 600 USO shares @ 20.74 just before the close.

The point of this thread to to keep me disciplined and to stop me going a bit mad buying and selling, and I've already broken the rules I set for myself - the value of the USO trade is €10k which is too much for such a small bank. Looks like USO will be up today so I should get a chance to reduce the exposure...

    Stop trading.

"Entertainment reasons..." This is your first and biggest mistake.

You could change the name of the thread to ''Getting raped with leverage'':p

How are you developing this speculation theory?

Leveraging that heavy is tough. Why not just used the 100 or 150 one month to buy some books etc. Then save and demo for a few months. After which you will have more knowledge and more money to invest/speculate on a single position :)

That's the end of that experiment!

    Ah well.
Lots of experiments will go wrong before you find your way.

Cheers! My other, more serious speculations are Taipan Resources and Oxus Gold... No leverage involved thete. Hopefully they will find the way for me!

    Funny lad Tug!

Ulinbac, oil went down further and I got a margin call. Balance at €50 and doubt I will deposit again. It was a failed experiment trying to call the top in the real estate market and the bottom in oil... happy to admit that!
