I got a new more expensive keyboard for the young lad for school. The one that came with it was a cheap fragile one. Now when he connects the newer one it lights up grand , the contacts between keyboard and computer are fine - he can't type ,on it. I reckon he isn't have inadvertently pressed a shortcut or something that…

It happens mine, rarely, assuming the contacts are clean try sliding the keyboard left or right while its attached. Normally sorts it out for me.
