Heights of bridges across ireland

So i was wondering if anybody knew the height of motorway bridges in ireland ? . im considering a career in artic driving( passed my test recently) and would like to get peace of mind about this.
im aware of the maximum height of any truck should be 4.65 meters for hgv's. does that translate that all motorway bridges are above this height? is there any i need to watch out for?
. i have been trying to find some sort of guide map for truckers, where to go, where not to go (eg. low bridges and roads not recommended to go down)etc. or is anyone aware of a list of routes for 40 fts that transport companys use?

I would really appreciate your help.

    Luke

You'd be safe enough on motorways anyway!

I dont think bridge heights are available. All the RSA will gaurantee is that A vehicle 4.65 metres high will pass under all motorway bridges. There are height sensors at entrances to port tunnell. If over height they will make you turn back at the port end, not sure about the other end.

Can't you get a truck sat nav which has the bridge heights and stuff on it. As I know a relation is an artic driver and has one and it plans the routes to avoid low bridges and stuff although he is mainly in uk so not sure how good or bad they are for Ireland.

do you reckon ? ive heard a rumour about a low bridge on the m7 but maybe the new height law (4.65m) is less than that bridge. has anyone heard about this bridge aswell?? or am i over thinking this one.

havent even thought about sat navs for some reason, i will definately look into that.

thanks for the replys so far

Have you even done the test yet? Worrying about bridges will be the least of your worries starting off and 9 times out of 10 someone will tell you about any you might come across.

Don't rely on sat navs either, they will definitely bring you down a bog lane sooner or later.

nothing im unfamiliar with , i read in a uk truck magazine they're predicting shortage of truck drivers in next few years , unlikely that will have any effect on pay in future, one can only hope things will get better.

All the irish rail bridges are listed on their website, they are the ones that tend to to be really low! Motorways are all fine,
The jack lynch tunnel in Cork is 4.6m, so some double deck trailers won't fit You would be surprised at how high some trucks can be, I saw a small DAF LF with a 3.8metre body, I did my rigid test in a DAF CF but that was apparently only 3.5metre,
http://www.irishrail.ie/about-us/bridge-heights-level-crossings That link does not include all bridges by the way!!

Most of the rail bridges are on backroads, but my dad recently saw a Dublin bus driver heading for a 3.4 metre bridge in a double decker! Thankfully car drivers managed to stop the idiot!

Tomtom have a range of sat navs aimed at professional drivers which take account of height, length and weight of vehicles. I am sure that the other companies probably do too.
