Saw a few threads on Oslo. Did anyone rent a car, and how much was it? Was thinking of flying into Oslo then renting a car and driving north for a few days in Feb or March.

Havent driven there myself but I did notice the cost of petoil was sky high. Also theres a car toll to enter most cities in Norway, Oslo Bergen both have a congestion charge. Could end up being a very expensive trip if you drive. Public transport goes everywhere in Norway. If I was you id take a bus or a train.

I booked at car at Bergen airport through rentalcars.com ended up being from Hertz and got a free upgrade.

They loaded Nkr500 from my credit card onto the tolltag in the car and I got a receipt by email a few weeks after returning with the total charge and what the refund was.

Petrol & Diesel is about the same as here, not too expenses (a lot of "green tax" on it, but considered quite reasonable by Norwegians themselves). I don't know if it's possible or feasible to rent an electric car, they are highly popular in Norway due to no tolls being applied to them.

Just be aware also that it may be snowing at that time of year and while your car has winter tyres fitted, you may not be used to the conditions if going off the beaten track.
