    Navan!

Just thought I'd share the fact that Navan won Ireland's most Christmassy town as it doesn't often get recognised for much positivity. :)

... all lit up with Christmas lights and has a big tree set up and most of the people walk around with Santy hats on. The rest of them are aul grumpy Scrooges.

Does that mean somebody went to Navan to make this decision? Or did they just give it the award so they didn't have to actually go there?

Stopped in Naas last week and it was quite Christmassy with the lights, and Christmas music being played through loudspeakers on the main street.

    Also it's nearly a palindrome.

Is it because it has enough travellers for a decade of nativities?

Cork city centre looked pretty Christmassy when I was down there last week.

If you want to get into it, you got to get out of it. (Hawkwind 1982)

No it's because it's really beautifully decorated for Christmas ;)

This years winner of most Christmassy town, as voted for by the people of Navan, is Navan town. Vladimir Putin, Robert Mugabe and Sepp Blatter have sent their best wishes on such a well ran, transparent voting system.

    Fantastic news.
