Well we've finalised our 2015 outings in our society, very happy with the mix.

    21st Feb. ESKER HILLS
    21st Mar. NEW FOREST
    25th Apr. CURRAGH
    16th May CASTLEKNOCK
13th June FARNHAM ESTATE (W/E AWAY)
14th June SLIEVE RUSSELL (W/E AWAY)
    4th July ATHLONE
    22nd Aug TULLAMORE
    12th Sept ROSSES POINT (Sligo)
    10th Oct. PORTUMNA
    14th Nov. MOUNT TEMPLE
    12th Dec MOATE

We're based in Athlone so a few close to home and a few in most directions. I was on the Golf Digest review panel this year which led to two of the bookings after review rounds and being impressed with the course so there is a benefit for these clubs to offer the odd free round.
Just wondering if any other of ye have settled on bookings for next year yet?

Cheers, very happy with the selection alright, Curragh (ahem Royal) was a pleasant surprise for me this year, expected a flat course and it was the complete opposite. Thinking of joining New Forest next year and I haven't played S Russell so looking forward to that weekend.

Should say, we're open to new members also, sub is €95 a year and green fees vary from €15 to €25 usually with a bit more for the likes of S Russell and Rosses

I'm in a society with members from the Ballinahown, Moate, Castledaly area (outside Athlone). Most members are regular players in competitions in their own clubs and probably in another society as well so we don't have a very intensive calendar. Our line up this year is -

    March - Athlone
    May - Castle Barna
    June - Glasson
    August - Moate
September - Mystery day trip (we've played Kilcock and Killeen previous years)
    December - Esker Hills

Nice to see a society giving a bit of support to it's local clubs, well done.

Yeah, think that's important, keep the majority local and then one or two a bit further along with one links and one special one, I think this year the links and special one are one in the same.
Unfortunately due to lack of committed numbers we had to cancel the weekend away and are going on the Saturday to M Wolsoley instead.

I'm involved in setting up a society at present can someone tell me what the green fees for ballybunion/Tralee were/are for a society group?

Based in Cork and so far we have Fota, Lahich, Adare Manor, Killarney, The Old Head of Kinsale so looking to add some more

nice list of courses you got there
depends on when you are planning to play Tralee and BB, but I enquired for September and think it was something like 180 for BB & 140 for Tralee. We won't be playing there! I may be mistaken, but the rates were crazy whatever the exact figure was. your best bet is to give them a ring

Crazy prices alright have a colleague who looks after the financials so I'll let him sort out the rates!
