Quick summons question

I got caught by a gatso van in August. Fine issued in wifes name etc sent it back to get altered arrived back to me in Oct.

I posted it on the 25th of oct for payment. It arrived back to me this week stating 56 days elapsed cannot process. Rang the office they said nothing they can do. Now I have no idea where the feckin letter went in between.

I presume a summons is winging its way to me. Will any of the above carry any weight when I go to court as really do not want a hefty fine and double points.

    Any advice appreciated?

If you gave to go to court get represented by a solicitor.

Get a solicitor, gave him/her explain that you were prepared to pay the five but the slowness of the system meant time elapsed. Any decent judge will impose the original fine and points or if your lucky strike the whole thing out.

What date in October did you receive it? If it was early in the month posting on the 25th Nov was cutting it close. Depending on your current points status you could try it yourself in front of the judge, and risk 5, or get a solicitor who will most likely get you the 2

If you're convicted in court, the judge has no option but to impose the higher number of points.

500 lids. Wear a suit and do it yourself for free. Explain what exactly happened, the 56 days should only commence from the date of issue. i.e. when the fine was transferred into your name.

500 lids for the first day, 300 for all sittings after that + any research time, (sometimes they seek to adjourn to a later date to review the evidence. Wear a suit and do it yourself for free. Explain what exactly happened, the 56 days should only commence from the date of issue. i.e. when the fine was transferred into your name.

    Hi.
Just got a letter today. Doing 63 in a 50 zone. I am thinking of fighting it as I believe the van
was parked in an area that is not a blackspot. According to the Garda website there was 1 fatality on the 4km strech of road. I don,t consider this a blackspot to be honest. I honestly think this van was there to generate revenue.
I need to know how the RSA/GARDA decide what defines an Accident Blackspot.
OK Hands up I was speeding per se but the ticket was issued illegaly as that van should not be there imo.
    Any Advice.
    Thanks
