Came across this for the first time last night, but maybe has been running for the last week, and it's freaking me out a bit - basically all my phone contacts who have FB pages are coming up in my "people you may know" section.

Fair enough I use FB daily but not heavily. I only like to keep in contact with social friends and make a point of not adding any work colleague past or present, however I have a huge amount of work related contacts on my phone. So when I was scrolling down last night my bosses and ex-bosses profiles started showing up. A bit freaky tbh, were they checking on me? Had I done something? **** what photos have I posted that might look bad on me? Do I really want to be scrolling through FB on a Saturday night and see my bosses face pop up while I'm trying to relax over the weekend?

Obviously now anyone that has my number, my profile pic is popping up on their feed. Going to sift through my pics today to find one that reflects well on me - but why should I have to do that?

Made me feel uncomfortable by all accounts, anyone else feel the same? Will sit down today and go through my privacy settings for sure.

eh... you should have to do it because you put up pictures on the Internet for all to see. its your fault and your responsibility. dont put anything on the internet that you wouldnt want anyone seeing. its really that simple

It's not "really that simple". How are you supposed to stop people putting up pictures of you?

you can set your privacy as to not allow them to show on your timeline. you are responsible for your own facebook page. if you think pictures other people take of you may hinder your career, either delete your fb or stop doing stuff you are ashamed of
