RTÉ News Now goes crazy

Was watching RTÉ News Now at 2:15 pm on 13th December (today) and out of nowhere, the feed kept began getting interrupted by a graphic about ex-Waterford Crystal staff accepting a new pension deal. Within seconds, it was reverted back to the feed, but the WC graphic reappeared again, got taken off and this repeated continuously for about five minutes before RTÉ took the channel off air.

RTÉ NN is currently showing the old logo on screen along with the words "Channel Off Air".

This is really bizarre. Does anyone know what's happening? Did some intern fall asleep in the control room? Does RTÉ give a damn about News Now?

rte news now has been asleep since launch, take a look at the graphics!! 4 year old could do better!! have they never heard of colour???

Probably not. And this won't change until they are allowed to run it as a proper channel ie. run adverts on it.

I'm not able to use URL links because I am new to the site, but just look up "RTE News Now" on Twitter and you'll find a picture what RTÉ News (Not) Now looks like right now.

It's back. Would've been better if it stayed off imo.

They are showing the Golf now -no scrolling text,no side bars - a nice crazy for a change.

We don't drag up old threads. While we apply this rule a bit more flexibly in Broadcasting, this one's a short thread in which the last post was 18 months ago. No excuse.
