Heard my tyre pop. Is it irreparable?

My tyre was soft last night and I was driving to the nearest garage. Going over a ramp, i heard a pop. Does that usually mean it's fecked and it can't just be repaired like a normal puncture from driving over a nail or something?

Also, in general how much would a new rim cost? Just in case that got damaged too, I'm not sure.

Can you see the hole, has the sidewall split?

You haven't given us any detail really...

But driving on a complete flat was not a good idea, I'd guess the tire would be wrecked even after a short drive, as the side wall will have taken a beating.

Very hard to know what the pop was, you're going to have to ask at the tire place. But I would just replace it regardless really, tires are what keeps you on the road, better off playing it safe especially at this time of year!

As for the question about the rim...impossible to know without knowing the car, and rim size. Was in an alloy? Or just a normal steel wheel?

    No I don't see a hole or a split.

It's just the normal steel wheel. Here's a picture of it. I don't see any noticeable damage but that's just me.

I'll be getting it repaired/replaced in a few hours. Just said I'd ask here first.

Was it completely flat when you heard the pop? Or was it still inflated somewhat. Could be alright really, best see what they say in the tire shop. Shouldn't be too expensive for a new one either if it's needed.

No, not completely flat. Considerably soft though. Hopefully it will only be a repair or a new wheel needed and nothing more.

It turns out it was repairable. There was a screw in the tyre. Got it fixed for €5. The 'pop' made me believe it was a lot worse than a usual puncture. No other damage either.
