Not DIY, moved to main forum.

Yes, they have been mentioned several times here before if you do a search of this forum. Good reviews if I remember right.

Bought my last 3 sets of tyres online from Camskill.

Always arrive within the week and once you take into account the 80 odd quid cost of fitting alignment and balancing you still save money especially on premium brands

i priced tyres 195/ 65/ r 15 online and managed to get Sandyford tyre center to supply 4 hankook optimo 4 seasons tyres for 85 a corner

    thats 70 quid a tyre + 15 install .

and cheaper or at least equal to online

its a good tyre as well

i will say he did price a set for another car using r 16 tyres at 155 quid ,
and imgoing online for them , but if you need r15 tyres , try them

Was the question directed at me?

If so, no, pilot sports are not all seasons. They would be one of the best summer tyres you can buy though.

Quick Question - What types of places would put the tyres on / balance/ track etc for you?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 51,411 ✭✭✭✭bazz26

It depends, most of the tyre chains like Fastfit or Advanced Pitstop will not fit tyres you didn't buy from them, as a policy. Your best bet is ring local smaller independent tyre fitters. Also compare prices including tyres with online prices + fitting and balancing. A lot of bricks and mortar places can come close or match online prices when you take fitting and balancing into account too. You really only start saving money buying online if you are buying high end or awkward sized tyres.

If the tires are a common size, I bet you'd find the same price in a shop here fitted, than you would getting them delivered. A lot of tire places here are quite competitive!

Got Uniroyal rainsport 3 for €127 each, local independent garage fitted and balanced them, swapped front wheels to rear for €30.

In cities and big towns, yes.

But once you live in the middle of nowhere, local tyre fitters usually have only cheapest Chinese ditchfinders in stock.

Ask them about Vredesteins, Uniroyals, Toyos, Falkens, etc. and you'l see  or other surprised face. ;)

Price whatever you want in Newry or somewhere in the North as well. I saved about €100 on a set of Michelins for my Sorento. Was going up there anyway so the diesel was not a factor.

Myself and my mate both bought 4 x Hankook 120 225/45 R18 and saved about 250 euro each on comparable tyres fitted in Dublin. Advance pitstop will fit for 60 all in. It's a no brainer as long as you can arrange someone to sign for the tyres and take them in..
