Allergy Testing - Is it worthwhile?

    Would like opinions on this.

    I was recommended by an ENT to get one done, as I frequently get colds or have a blocked nose.

    Price is astronomical, circa €400, to get it done. So I wouldn't feel too good about shelling out €400 to find out, hey you've no allergies. That's a lot of money for me.

    Any thoughts from people who've done them - waste of money or worth it?

    The idea behind allergy testing is to see if a patient suffers with atopy which is a syndrome of hypersensitivity, classically manifested by the likes of asthma, hayfever, eczema and chronic rhinitis. There are about 10 substances tested for. Depending on symptoms,results can inform a patient's treatment options.

    Obviously we're not in a position to recommend anything here!
