I was in Currys the other day and say they were selling the Chromecast for €39.99 and was very tempted. But then i was thinking do i really need it? I have a PS4 which I have Netflix, WWE Network and other streaming services. As well as this if i wanna watch new movies or TV shows I just....cough.....put em on a USB and either connect laptop to TV through HDMI or just plug the USB into the TV.

So with all this in mind, would it be worth my while to get a Chromecast or would it just be a waste of money??

They were only 18GBP on amazon uk about 2 weeks ago. So I brought one. I watch a lot of youtube, so its nice to have that on the TV. Netflix is also handy to have on the TV rather than just a laptop.

I dont think I would spend €40 on it

Actually €40 is ok for it. It's good for Netflix etc on a big screen, but it's not so good if you use vpn with Netflix, that doesn't work.

I bought an Apple TV and it doesn't give me much more than the chromecast, paid over €100 for the atv.

It allows you to one click send media from your smartphone to play on your tv, can you do that with your PS4?

Does screen casting media to tv have any issues have a few HD titles on the tablet .
Was thinking of picking one up

Nope, works a treat. I use it with local cast and stream or download with showbox all the time and it's fantastic.

Have a smart TV and it's handier to use chrome cast for media and YouTube over the inbuilt apps.

I need to get a wifi dongle for my parents tv. If I get this will it do the job even though they wont be using a device?. It is a smart tv.

It won't work for the Internet and stuff on the TV. If you can wire the TV directly to the router (have a UPC horizon box so it's near TV anyway) it will save you having to get one.

Yeah cheers for that. In another room from the router so can't connect it with the wires.

Get a set of homeplugs, a better option than wireless
