Wrong name on TV license

    Hi,

    I just got a letter saying legal proceedings will be taken if I don't pay my license. It's the right surname but not my first name.

    Does it have to be my proper name to for them to be able to prosecute me?

    I have a TV but don't plan to pay the license as I am considering getting rid of it and investing in a big computer monitor

    The letter was very obviously for someone else and you should not have opened it !

    I would personally ignore a letter that was not in my name.;)
