File Shareing Options

I am looking for the best option to share one Excel file between four people. Two of the people need be able to edit the file regularly and the other two need to be able to view the file.

We tried One Drive but as it was connected to Excel we ended up with multiple different docs, one on the cloud and one on each of the editors computers. It is very easy to save to the computer rather than One Drive by mistake.

Essentially I want one copy that is only at one source but that can be edited by two users and viewed by two other users.

Can anyone suggest a suitable solution?

Google Drive would be a good solution. You can install it on your machine and have a local copy of a shared file which will sync with changes made on different machines by other users (who have google drive installed and permission to edit). Save changes to the file on your machine and they will also sync to the "cloud" copy. You can also share the file with other people who do not necessarily need to have a Google account, via a web link. You can set the permissions for others to either view or edit when you share a file with them. Also, worthy of mention - an .xls file can be viewed/edited in the web browser using Google Drive on a machine that does not have Excel installed (think iPads etc). And finally it is free for up to 15GB of storage.

That is all well and good as long as you trust Google to keep your files safe for you, if that isn't an issue - then that is the solution that I would use in your situation.

Cheers for that, it seems to be what I am looking for. I will look into Google Drive, thanks again.
