Have had this issue at home in both TVs where we get RTE1HD, +1 and RTE Junior plus the new UTV channel picture crystal clear but RTE2, TV3, TG4 and 3e are at best fuzz. Thought it was the connections on the TV that was the problem but with the channels I do have been perfect I dont know what the issue could be. Our aerial is inside... Probably doesn't help but that we get other channels so clear and nothing of the others has me baffled. This has been annissue for about 6 months... Before that it was fine for 2ish years

The problem is most likely your indoor aerial not receiving both Saorview frequencies/multiplexes adequately. You could try repositing the aerial to improve reception but the best recommendation would be to mount an aerial externally. In some locations an attic aerial might work.

This has been a problem discussed here since the second Saorview frequency was launched about 12 months ago and the channels split between them. The problem can also affect external aerials if they haven't been properly aligned on the nearest Saorview transmitter.

Digital reception is all or nothing in how it presents on screen. Error correction can maintain a perfect picture until the signal quality falls below a certain point, then you get a brief threshold of pixellation & breakup, then nothing.

Signal quality for your 'clear' channels probably isn't much better than for the problem channels.
