Hope its ok to bump this up. I was looking for fresh chestnuts in the supermarkets today and found nary a one. I'm not near any of those smaller and specialist shops so if anyone sees them in the major supermarkets could you post here pleeze?

My Lidl must be hiding them from me so! :) Thanks.

They have them in my local tesco - they are located in the fruit and veg aisle near the stir fry vegetables.

Crikey I must be totally blind, haven't seen them all week in Lidl, Aldi, Tesco or Dunnes, haven't been to Supervalu yet though. Thanks all.

Tesco near my office had them (Dublin 4)

I've been looking for *dried* chestnuts - usually they're in health shops at this time of year, and I get a year's supply. Very handy and nice if you're making a veggie stir-fry or couscous: soak them, boil them, chop them and add them in. But for some reason there's no sign of them this year. (They keep about a year before losing sweetness, by the way.)
How do you use your fresh chestnuts?

All I want to do is roast them! :) Everyone here seems to have them in their local supermarket. I'm still not finding them. Lots of other types of nuts, lots of walnuts, yet to see a chestnut! :( Maybe today's the day!

I saw them yesterday in Lidl, they were above this new 'pick n mix' style nut section, at the end of the vegetable aisle!

Was in Fallon & Byrne and got dried ones there; I *think* they also had fresh ones - maybe give them a ring first.

Asked in Dunnes, but only pre-cooked Chestnuts, they are waiting for fresh chestnuts to come into stock. Grrrrr!
