    Hi

    http://www.lidl-service.com/cps/rde/SID-E1767155-B8DC395D/lsp/hs.xsl/product.html?id=2844413&rdeLocaleAttr=en&title=Ultrasonic%20Cleaner

I'm just wondering if this yoke would be suitable for a soft gum shield for bruxism. I just got a new one today. My last one which was my first one was a total pain in the arse to keep clean. It was horrible and got quickly discoloured and stank also. I dont want my new one to get that way. I'm a gadget guy I admit and would love if the ultrasonic cleaner worked.

If not, my new dentist recommended something called Sterident or something that sounds like that? Think he said it was some kind of tablet thingy that dissolved. Would anyone second that recommendation ?

your dentist meant this stuff http://www.boots.ie/en/Steradent-Active-Fresh-30-tablets_872312/

normally it is used for cleaning dentures but no reason it wouldnt work for your gumshield.

i wouldnt recommend the ultrasonic cleaner for the job. all they do is loosen dirt. they have no anti-bacterial or sterilising qualities.

Yeah it's just dawned on me that it's not gonna have much effect on the bacteria if its gone that far. The guard is hardish plastic but it must be somewhat porous so it looked to me that the bacteria would soak into it which would explain why it would still smell even after I'd steralized it with some solution - so I think that yoke is gonna be pretty useless for what I want it for me thinks. I was thinking/hoping it was some kind of microwave type of zapper thing that nuked everything inside and out.

I wonder if there is any other alternative ? : )
