Heya, any ideas.. is a bit strange but no idea whats going on.. Below was performed in a Mazda garage, and they are a bit stumped now aswell?

    Mazda MX5 MK3 2007 140,000km

    - July misfire cylinder 3 - replaced plugs -> problem gone for about 3 months
    - October misfire cylinder 3 again - swapped coil 3 and coil 1, issue followed, replaced the coil
    - December misfire cylinder 3 again - is not too bad so far, happens every 2nd day or so for a minute, engine light flashes, then gone.. But I know this will get worse like on the last ocassions..
    - Am using Dipetane for the last 2 days but occurred again this morning!

They say the next thing is to strip down the engine to take a look at the valves? This will be a tad costly..

    Thanks, C

wont be valves, they either work or not it will be either electrical or fuel related try the connectors/loom to the injectors, try getting the injectors tested.

    Thanks for the reply..

Im using dipetane at the moment, should I get the whole system flushed?

I thought it was electrical in the past, as it occured once when I unplugged something faulty from the lighter point, however I have since learnt that they are on different circuits...

I have a feeling it is something to do with fuel, it started this time on 2 occassions when the fuel was very low.. Could it be dirt build up somewhere?
