Is there much difference in price by booking online or booking on the day?

Need to book for a friend arriving into Dublin Airport at 1.40pm but if they don't make the 2.30 bus is there any problem with them getting on the 3.30 bus?

It is cheaper to book in advance, and we used tickets for the 5pm bus on the 4pm bus last Monday without a problem.

The bus is rarely full, so they're pretty flexible with accepting tickets for later or earlier times in my experience both on the airport services and also Dublin - Belfast.

Assuming 1:40 is the flight arrival time, that looks tight for the 2:30. I would book for the 3:30, then plead my case if I made the 2:30.

Even with having to wait for a bag we made it from plane to bus in 35 minutes last Monday. 50 minutes should be fine and if there's no bag to pick up will have time to get a coffee too.

    where are they going

the plane usually lands 20 minutes early as they add time to make it look like it landed on time

I've had to clear considerable displays of idiocy and base ignorance of boards.ie rules from this thread.

Stick to the OP's question if you're going to post
