Anyone had experience dealing with this company? They have good prices on Lee filters compared to Amazon or Conns etc. Am tempted but would like to know they're reliable.

I have never bought from them personally, but they are reliable and come highly recommended. I just have never had need to use them.

Conns I find among the cheapest for Lee stuff. What filters were you looking at that are cheaper on Barker?

    Thanks guys. Great feedback.

@adox - Was looking at: Foundation kit, soft grad set of 3, hard grad set of 3 and 77mm wide angle adaptor.

Barker Just a bit cheaper for the foundation kit and adaptor but their grad sets are €218 each compared to Conn's €249. Actually every Lee item is cheaper at Barker than Conns or Amazon or anyone else I've looked at. usually by just €10 or so (e.g. the nd standards or the stoppers) but those grad sets are as good a deal as I've seen.

Btw guys, Do they have a drop in shop or is it just online?

Yeah just checked there earlier and you are absolutely right.

Some nice gear there if you are ordering it all, some outlay financially but worth it imo.

Yep you can pop in and buy/collect if you wish - I got my soft grads from Barker.
Unlike many online sellers we display our CONTACT DETAILS and even a MAP to find us – because sometimes it’s just easier to drop in or pick up the phone and talk!. We believe in making sure you get the right product and advice and that’s what keeps our customers coming back!.

I've emailed them queries in the past and they've been great.

Resistance turned out to be futile! I have the strength of will of a brittle twig!

Bit the bullet on the foundation kit, hard and soft grads sets and adaptor. €565 delivered ... being sent out today. A lot, but a good deal nonetheless. My Cokin P-set are now up for sale if anyone's interested!!

Barkers are an excellent company to deal with and I got my Lee filter set there. I suggest that you talk to them over the phone to get a cut on your purchase. Sometimes they will waiver the courier fee. A little late with my advice for Myksyk. You won't be disappointed with the Lee's

Thanks Pixbyjohn. I actually did ring and spoke with a very nice lady who did indeed waive the delivery fee. : )

Arrived today. Serious set up. Happy camper! Hope to get up early tomorrow for some of that frost and sunshine (the road to a good sleep-in is paved with good intentions)!

Yeah was looking at that too although their polarisers are mad money.
Picked up a second hand copy of the "regular" round polariser the other day so that will do me.

It's feckin mad money though. Ordered the holder for the polariser so it can mount on the front of the foundation kit and move independently(it's basically a metal ring) and it was feckin €45!

Edit: Looking forward to seeing some of the shots. Wouldn't mind seeing a photo of all those grads together too!

Absolutely agree. That polariser holder thingumajig is outrageously overpriced. Mind you, the new slim polariser is actually cheaper than the standard one. Thing is ... for me the Lee polariser makes much more sense. I have a screw-in hoya circular but it cam't be used in front of grads etc where it needs to be so I tend not to use it. I think I'd use the Lee one quite a lot. The new landscape one also produces no vignetting down to 17mm on FF, even in front of the grads.

Ha. Went out at 6.45 to the Burren at a snails pace along frozen roads and waited for sunrise. Looked promising in terms of light etc. Then a bank of cloud came in just as the sun came up and swallowed it whole, leaving the day dim and dank and me like someone had smacked me with a wet fish. Home and up to bed to lick my wounds!

Wow that's some outlay in a short space of time. Can I recommend one more Lee product? Won't break the bank and extremely useful.
The Lee lens caps. €7 odd for a pack of three. It's basically a white lens cap but it enables you to leave the adaptor ring on your lens permanently and put a lens cap on as your manufacturers one won't fit with the adaptor ring on the lens.

It's a really cheap solution but a real time saver.

Funny, I had it bought more or less and then left it out. it does look like a cheap time-saver. I'll probably get it over the Christmas at some stage.
