    Hi,

Hoping someone out there can help me. I changed jobs during the summer this year.
My new employer informed me that they didn't have my updated tax credits so I sent them my P45. Now they have come back to say that I have a 'significant USC liability' dated from Jan of this year.
I called the Revenue twice and my employer and they both informed me that I owe nothing.
My current employer also claims that they have calculated my tax correctly.

I don't know what's going on? Its not a small amount either is 2k!!!

Any idea what this could be?

    Thanks,
    A

how much have you earned in 2014?

You'd need to earn about 40,000 to even have a liability of €2k in USC let alone have an underpayment of that amount.

Why not compute it yourself and then you will know.

That doesn't really make sense. Is your new employer trying to deduct an additional amount from your pay to cover this USC that they say is underpaid and how do they know that it dates back to January? And yet Revenue say that you owe nothing?
