Amended Tax Credit Certificate - What does this mean for me?

    Hi all,

    New enough to the working world so any advice greatly appreciated.

    I started my job in Jan of this year and was contacted by payroll last week and told I needed to ring Revenue and inform them that I worked for the company. I did this and have just recieved an Amended Tax Credit..

    What does this mean for me? On the cert it says I have €3300 tax credits. So that seems to mean I have approx €63 tax credit each week. I am a minimum wage worker and pay less than €63 a week in tax, so.. that means I don't have to pay any tax?

    Obviously I am missing something here if someone could explain this to me pleeeease 😄

    Also, any chance of me being entitled to claim any tax back in the new year?

    Most workers receive two tax credits:

    personal/single = 1650
    PAYE = 1650

    Total is 3,300, which you have, so that looks ok.

    Now the main income tax rate is 20%, so you can earn 16,500 before you pay income tax.
