    Hi there,
I'm wondering what Norbrook are like to work for? I'll either be applying in Newry or Monaghan.
I've heard that there have been issues there in the past with HR.
Has anyone any experience with this company?

    My boyfriend works for Norbrook.

    He typed this

Firstly, you have to apply for a National Insurance number for the United Kingdom (if you don't already have one) in order to pay tax.

You will need a Northern bank account.

You will be paying for National Insurance every week which will entitle you to heavily subsidized (and in some cases) free healthcare. A coworker of his got 9 fillings, an X-Ray and a hygienist cleaning all for £50.

You will be paying tax to Her Majesty's Revenue regardless of whether you reside in the ROI or NI.

Norbrook operate a shift pattern, you will most likely have to work four shifts.

09:00-17:30 Monday to Friday 06:00-14:00 Monday to Friday 14:00-22:00 Tuesday to Saturday

    and

09:00-17:30 Tuesday to Saturday OR 06:00-14:00 Tuesday to Saturday

If you are working in stability you will only work 09:00-17:30 Monday to Friday3832

If you are on shifst you will get £11.38p per hour and if you are on a permanent shift basis you will get £10.60 per hour. This usually increases by 2% (or in harmony with inflation) every year at August.

You get 3 flexi days (or 6 flexi half days) per year to use at your discretion.

You get 2 weeks paid for summer You get 8ish work days of which 5 are paid for Christmas. You get5 work days for Easter which is paid

The canteen is supposedly “subsidized”, £2.50 for a small dinner and £3.50 for a large.

Break times are 20 minutes at 08:30 and 20 minutes at 11:00 if you are on earlies You will get 20 minutes at 16:00 and 20 mnutes at 19:30 if you are on lates If you are on normals, you get 15 minutes at 11:00, 30 minutes to be taken between 13:00 and 14:00 and another 15 minutes at 16:00.

Bad news: If you are in production, you will have to work either 6AM to 6 PM or 6PM to 6AM three days a week.

No matter what shift you are on, you will always get paid for 40 hours.

You will lose £88.88 on tax if youu are on shifts to tax.

Norbrook operate a pension scheme, you pay £2.75 per week which Norbrook will match. You can incrase this contribution but Norbrook will opnly pay a max of £5 per week.

If you work in the UK for 20 years or more, you will then be entitled to a UK state old age pension.

Phones are forbidden on site. You must keep in your car or surrender to security upon arrival.

HR are strict, just keep on their good side and you'll stay on their's.

Promotion is very fast in Norbrook, with senior positions available in as little as 2 years (or even less) of work due to the high turnover of staff.

When you get a senior position, you no longer have to do shifts.

    Hope that helps !!
