Built-in Freeview HD but no channels

Advertised as having a Freeview HD tuner and its on the Saorview approved list at http://www.saorview.ie/product/samsung/
I just set it up (in Wicklow, Greystones) Looking to see what Saorview (Ireland) or Freeview HD (UK) channels the built-in tuner can find on its own but it doesn't find any channels via Auto Tune.

Tried setting the TV up with a country setting of UK or Ireland separately; same.
Tried scanning over Air & Cable (Digital & Analogue); same.
Thoughts?
Do I still need an aerial of some form on top of the house to pick up Saorview or Freeview HD channels? Newb to Saorview.

Strange thing is that the TV manual & box itself doesn't state 'Freeview HD' either but maybe its a given.

You will need an aerial for Saorview or equivalent indoor aerial that will only work if you are in an area close to a transmitter. You will only pick up an overspill of freesat in some areas and will def need an outdoor aerial for any chance of picking it up.

Typo there, should be Freeview.

Greystones has its own fill-in transmitter for Saorview, so you might get lucky with a 'set-top' aerial.

Freeview is another matter though, & if it's available at all (maybe from Wales), would require a high-gain outdoor installation.

Thanks for the info. Any recommendations on good (preferably cheap/affordable) indoor aerials and/or where to buy it from?

I'll have to double check if we have an aerial on the outside of the house. We had cable (Chorus) in the past & now just have Sky in one room with a wireless AV sender/receiver sending the Sky signal to a TV in another room.
