rxn10dx9Although I enjoy reading about luxury watches, reality compels me to lower my sights somewhat.
No matter, peace of mind is accepting the world as it is rather than what you would like it to be.
This would be my ideal watch if I won euromillions tomorrow night.

Only 20,000 euro in Weir's on Grafton street!

For now I have to settle for: http://www.loruswatches.co.uk/index.php/products/rxn10dx9
Which I bought recently in a small jewellers in Mullingar for 69 euro.

It's a beautiful watch and I'm very pleased with it.
To make it into my ideal watch I'd like it to have eco drive, or some other form of solar propulsion, and a form of "read in the dark" dial or hands.
I've checked the Citizen and Seiko web sites but can't find anything comparable.
    Any ideas?

I am not sure I understand.
You want to modify your existing Lorus so it has high Lume hands and to be solar powered?

If I have that right then I suppose the hands will be the easier part. But I doubt it is easily possible to retro fit a Solar dial and power cell to an existing movement. It may be possible to source a dial and movement and spacer that will fit in your case, but you would need to be very lucky to find them...and that could cost a pretty penny.

Regarding the hand lume - much more possible.
Do you want this to be a DIY job or to have a watchmaker do it?
There are basically two ways, 1 - paint the existing hands. 2- buy compatible hands that have lume preapplied and fit them in place of your existing hands.

I'm probably looking for something that doesn't exist.
In which case I apologize for wasting peoples time.
Ideally I would like a watch which incorporates what I like in this watch (Gold coloured, 40mm diameter, full roman numerals, day and date.) into a slightly higher end model (around 300 euro) with solar drive and a "read in the dark" display.

I haven't seen many solar powered watches in a that very dressy style. Is that really a must-have for you? Same can go for lumed hands, as the hands just don't look as elegant - they generally have to be much fatter to make any lume actually useful.

My gut feeling is that you will have to compromise on at least half of those criteria.

Thanks for taking the time to reply.
It isn't really a "must have" as opposed to a "would be nice to have".

What's the top priority - is it the visibility at night? As I said, I can't help but feel you're going to have to get something less dressy that will have larger hands that can hold a decent amount of lume.

50% over budget unfortunately, but (some) Roman numerals

40mm, Roman numerals, gold, date but no lume
