Hello, first post for me and I am hoping someone can help me out.

My wife and I replaced my in laws old TV with a Samsung smart TV, Ue32H5500.

They have two aerials, one pointing to Brougher mountain for the UK broadcast and the other to Eire, either Truskmore or Cairn Hill.

They have another TV which picks up both Freeview and Saorview.

With the new Samsung I can set the area to either UK or Ireland and pick up the channels for each respectively but not the both together.

It is quite frustrating and I am trying to find a way around it, an autos can wipes all the previous channels.

Can anybody help or suggest a solutions?

    Much appreciated Matt.

When you use UK as the country the Saorview channels may be stored from 800 upwards. If this is the case it should be possible to reorder them as required.

If you use Ireland as the install country the UK channels may be stored after the Irish channels, maybe 51 or 221 upwards, or in some other location.

Can you check the complete list?

Find the recommended Saorview transmitter for your location here - http://www.saorview.ie/get-saorview/make-the-switch/coverage-map/

Thanks For the response. Unfortunately the 800+ channel numbers where I would expect the RtE channels have nothing, they just say "no information". I know I can recieve the signal. I am wondering if it is a specific characteristic of the TV. It is Saorview approved as I checked before hand.

Truskmore comes up as the best aerial but as it was installed years ago, I am not sure whether it is pointing that way.

Scan the NI channels on auto and then try scanning the Saorview frequencies manually, if you can identify which transmitter you hope to receive from.

You should be able to make a good guess by the angle of the aerial where it is pointing, or if you have any neighbours with working Saorview see which channels in the TV setup are used.

Currently Saorview are messing with the signal, and have been for the last month or so. They have two SSU channels that mess up non-saorview TVs, and your TV is non-Saorview if you set it for UK. Also they have 38 non-channels (fake or blank channels) so keep looking for channels right up to 900 if you have the TV set to the UK. Use the [Channel List] button on the remote and [page up] to see your way quickly.

Saorview assume that everyone who has a TV that is non-Saorview has an unapproved set but they have not taken into account those sets that require to receive Freeview or Freesat. My Saorview set is set to UK so I can receive Freesat.

Hi, I have a similar Samsung which behaves the same way. When the 800 channels appear with 'no information' I just select one of them with the TVs remote. This then populates the program guide for the 800 channels. If you turn off the TV while it is tuned to an 800 channel, the program guide will reappear when the set is turned on again.

You should be able to renumber the channels, and delete the 38 rogue non-channels.
