Problems with more Insulation in Ceiling?

I have attached the current make up of my roof in a sketch (excuse the poor drawing). But i get the feeling that i am heating an attic space that seems to be a waste. would there be any problem in putting 250mm or 300mm "quilt" insulation on flat of the ceiling. is there any issue with causing condensation or any other issue as there is currently a lot of insulation on the slope of the roof?

Certainly you would have to take into account heating the attic in any heating calculations for rooms below.

If attic is not being used, it makes a whole lot more sense to insulate at ceiling level...and that might help insulate better at wall plate level. ;)

No more condensation risk insulating on the flat (properly) with vapor barrier, than insulation on the slope.

The extra insulation will help. And with any cold bridge at the wall plate too. Thanks
