Nothing as fancy as the dark side but I'm thinking we should go with:

    Poster of the year
    Post of the year
    Race of the year (AR)
    Race of the year (Tri)
    Race report of the year
    Training log of the year
    Performance of the year
    Thread of the year

To vote simply pop myself, BTH or shotgunmcos a message with your vote for the categories you want to vote on. Voting closes Monday 22nd.

    Feel free to discuss here.

So are you guys going to compile a list of nominations to vote on, AR forum style, or is it just random open voting?

I was thinking just random open voting but I'm happy to go either way. If we go the poll route then we'll need a shortlist by the end of this week. The reason I didn't go that route is I'm off work the end of this week for a few days and probably won't be online until Tuesday. I'm happy for someone else to create the poll though.

I'm gonna make some public nominations from an AR perspective (definitely a minority in the forum):

Race of the year (AR) - Beast of Ballyhoura. Irelands biggest (and best) AR continues to go from strenght to strength. This year took us to some parts of the country I don't recall ever having being visited in an AR before. An enjoyable course which challenged every team, with a terrific battle for the podium places. This is the closest you get to true expedition adventure racing in Ireland. Next year it goes from being a European championship qualifier to being the host of the European championships.

Reace report of the year: Dunebuggy's report from the AR world championships. Sounds like the adventure quotient was up to 11 in this one!

Performance of the year: Team Triharder in the Beast of Ballyhoura. Nominated for the fact that a bunch from this forum organised through the forum to get together and train and race as a team in the biggest challenge AR has to offer in Ireland. That's a lot of time and commitment with a huge risk of it all going pear shaped. Performance in this case is more about the bigger picture of building a functioning team than the race result.

I'd like to nominate Dublin 70.30 as race of the year.

Ok Folks if I get enough PMs with suggestions, votes, categories etc by the weekend. I'll put up a few polls. Otherwise Mods will agree a date and sort out the PMs we have plus what is posted here and announce our revered people, races, reports etc.. by Christmas :)

    And on that note..

Happy Christmas all you TDARs :)
