Anyone here tried out one of these putters?

    What's the feedback?

Never really took notice of them before but they seem to get good reviews online

I assume you mean the ones with long shafts. There have been putters with counterbalanced heads for years. I tried one of the original "branding irons" but didn't see any advantage.

For the modern ones, read this:

Thinking of getting one of these, might even go all out and get the mothership know as the Taylor Made Daddy Long Legs. The seem an interesting concept and my putting game could do with some change as its costing me shots are the moment.

Any of you guys take the plunge and get one? how has it gone for you?

Yip I got one two years ago and it successfully turned me from a decent putter to a diabolical putter once the 1 month honeymoon was over.

Found it decent for line but brutal for distance control. I'm sure it was mainly a mental thing but it got so bad that I've developed a fear of spiders and daddy long legs.

I use the oddessy fang type with longer shaft, and I think it's brilliant, found it hard at the start with longer putts due to the weight of the actual head but once you get use to it , it's great

Line is most important for me. My distance control is also quite poor at the moment so I'm happy that it won't get much worse and won't be much of a sacrifice.

I have a face balanced putter..Odyssey as below

    http://www.thehackersparadise.com/odyssey-white-hot-xg-7-putter-review/

Really like it and have no desire to change.

"When a putter is face balanced, it means that the putter head is equally weighted between the toe and the heel relative to the point where the shaft enters the head"

"The point of face balancing is to restrict the amount which the clubface opens and closes as you swing back and through."

But counter balanced is different again...

I only got one of these the other day. Got an Odyssey Tank #7 with Superstroke grip. Had two rounds with it so far. Has it made a difference? Not yet. I've noticed I left a lot of Long putts about 5/6 feet short or else same distance past the hole. But then I made a lot more of the 2nd putts back. Hope to sort this distance issue out or I wouldn't be happy with it. But from about 5/10 feet around the hole it feels great for alignment and feel. It's seems the long putts are an issue so far. Keep you posted if it improves.

Had the daddy long legs and loved it but I putt from off the green a lot and found it a bit awkward for that. Stayed counter balanced with the oddessy so have the ell for sale.
