I am getting paid into my seller account in Euro. The Amazon amount to be paid to me is about 3.2% less than the amount I calculated on google currency converter. Would I be better off getting paid in Pounds?

The rates you see on Google are mid-market rates and should only really be used as a rough guideline. The actual rate depends on your bank.
Generally though you're better off using the local rate, which will be Pounds.

I have kept records a few times and paying in steriling was always cheaper.

Somebody posted recently saying the opposite though, but I am wondering if they made a mistake, I have only ever heard the opposite from other posters (i.e. cheaper to pay in steriling).
