    Hi folks,

Am looking into the idea of IVF to have another child. My first child is almost nine. I have been a single parent for most of those years. I really want to have another baby but I just have been burned too many times in relationships to take that risk again. Knowing how Ireland can be quite behind the times I was wondering if it's even done in Ireland? Can single women undergo IVF with donor sperm? I will be 34 in a months time so am getting very conscious of the ageing eggs I still have on board! Any advice would be appreciated, I have tried to ignore these feelings for years and I know it probably sounds a bit naff but I feel like I was meant to have more than one child.

I didn't think they could but this Sims article says otherwise

Cork fertility clinic also offer the service, the sperm is imported from Europe. You probably wont need IVF just IUI. Theres a singles thread on rollercoaster and the girls there would be able to help you in lots of ways

Was about to say the same thing, the procedure you will be looking for is IUI rather than IVF. It's much cheaper. Cork fertility clinic do it, as do Sims as far as I know.

Hi, just wondering if you looked into this?
I have a friend who always wanted kids and is now talking about getting pregnant by 'accident' if you know what I mean!
I'm trying to persuade her that she has options other than tricking a man into becoming a father just because she wants a baby!

I genuinely hope that you are successful at that. If your friend is being serious then it's a despicable thing to do.
