Full length dresses. I went to one before and wore a knee length fit and flare style dress and was the only one who wasn't wearing a full length dress.

I know a few others who've gone to similar events and all have worn full length dresses.

In that case don't wear a dress :pac:

A suit with a bow tie is what all the males wore to the one I was at, no waistcoats or those three piece suits etc, just a regular suit and a bow tie is what I would suggest.

Decent shoes, and dark socks for the shoes, the amount of guys who wore cartoon socks or brightly coloured socks was surprising.

Something like that would be perfect. If there are any shops near you that do suits for cheap (less than €100) maybe go with one of them, it honestly doesn't need to be an expensive or designer suit. Just something that looks smart.

Some of the lads at the one I was at got jackets and trousers separately (both the same colour though) from Penneys, Dunnes, M&S etc and just wore regular shirts and bow ties with them.

Some had expensive suits too of course, but it made absolutely no difference as they all looked smart and looked the part, which is the main thing.

GAA dances are always great craic most lads wear a suit and a tie you could wear a bow tie if you wanted. I'd advise you get a navy suit as it will be easier to wear to other events in the future.
