Best mobile network for my needs? (Anecdotes welcome)

(Apologies if this is the wrong board to discuss this on)

So, with my OnePlus One due to arrive from Germany this week, I'm contemplating switching networks from o2. I'm not entirely dissatisfied with them, as I'm not a heavy user, but the OPO will be my first phone with proper support for mobile internet (I'm currently using an Xperia x8) and I think I can get far better value for my money.

I'm torn between Meteor and 3 at the moment, as they both have good mobile internet offers, 4G wise. In terms of calls and texts, I rarely ever text, but I do make a decent amount of calls a week (Most of which are to o2 customers, hence why I haven't moved sooner).

Anybody have any experiences with either that they would like to share, or any advice? Thanks in advance!

(P.S. I'm interested in pre-pay only, and my budget for credit would be €20 a month)

If your willing to sacrifice 4g and you've a budget of 20 a month is seriously look at the 48 network... 20 euro gets you unlimited calls and texts to any Irish number, 60 landline minutes and a couple of gig. I'm with them three months with Galaxy s4 and iphone5 and no complaints.

Just another option. Meteor were extremely expensive in comparison, I was going through 60+ credit a month.

I have O2 for work and Meteor for personal.

These devices are used primarily in Dublin or Waterford Wexford on all locations Meteor beats O2 hands down on both Signal quality and Signal Strength Based on that alone and the level of investment Meteor have put into the network i would say meteor is superior.

I had 3 mobile broadband and I found the customer service to be terrible, when I got it initially the coverage was really hit and miss. Some days it would be super fast and others really slow or not working at all. I was constantly ringing them and was told "sorry mast in your area is down, should be back soon etc. etc." I also don't like dealing with their customer care as I can't understand them and they couldn't understand me but that's a personal thing and me having a bogger accent. When I rang to cancel it I had to call 5 times, for some odd reason I kept getting cut off when I mentioned I was cancelling my account. Also I was getting calls from them at 12,1,2 in the morning asking if I wanted to upgrade, that REALLY pissed me off. Personally I'd never deal with 3 again and I know a few others who think that also. Ive never used Meteor so can't comment there.
