Just put a few 44kg lambs in the garden behind the house. How much daily ration would ye feed them each to get to 48kg? How long do ye think this would take? They havnt really put on any weight in the last month on grass.

I'd usually give them a creep feeder and let them work away themselves if I want to move them in a hurry. they usually build up to eating a kilo a day in about a week. When they're eating a kilo/day they usually put on 2kgs/ week in weight,
Alternatively trough feed them, you should be able to build them up to .75kg/day divided in two feeds

Paying €6.80 a bag here for 15% P lamb finisher.....it's good enough for older lambs....you must be giving them lamb creep

How much grass is there artic? And how soon do you want them gone?

I'd start em on about 0.3kg / day, weigh em in 2 weeks, see how you're doing.

If the grass is good, I'd expect em to put on over 0.5kg /wk.
If you aren't in any mad rush AND you have the grass, I'd keep the feeding not that high and sell em end jan.

Once they eating you could mix in some rolled barley, instead if the nut - to rude some of the cost.

Grass isn't great. It's only half an acre closed since 1st October. 6 of them in it. I usually keep it empty for pet lambs in the spring. It's just handy for feeding, right outside the back door! I'll see how I get on over the next few weeks. They seem to be eating all I throw in the through anyway.

Giving them Intensive lamb pellets. I'll ask in the co-op about the finisher.

Charged €7.40 a bag here a week or two ago for 16% maize lamb finisher. A bit irritated that mills don't appear to have passed on the reduced grain prices in full.

What's the difference between the finisher and the creep?? Just the protein or is there more?
