Gas central heating not working

    Hi guys,

I moved into a house I have purchased late on Friday and never got a chance to switch electricity and gas into my name (I don't know if this would have been done by estate agent or what the procedure is). Everything was working until last night, now the gas boiler doesn't seem to be firing, it runs for a second and then the reset light comes on. Would I be correct in thinking it is a boiler problem rather than the gas having been turned off? I'm going to call in the morning and have both supply's changed to my name. Just wondering should I have an RGI come in the morning as well.

    Thanks in advance

    Blindside

Go have a look in your gas meter box, if it's been shut off it 'should' have a warning tag on the meter. (with the numbers to call to reinstate) you may also need an RGI to perform an Annex E inspection of the installation and certify it safe for use for them to reconnect

Thanks for that, I've just had a look and it doesn't appear to have been shut off. I have the number of an RGI so I'm going to call bord gais in the morning to have the account changed to my name. I'll call the RGI and get him to have a look after that
