    is there anywhere around cork city where i could buy a nice chess board for around €50-60.

    John Alfred has some nice wooden sets. I think he's based in Adare but he might be around the Cork region from time to time. I think his company name is ChessZ.

    Nobody in Cork city that I know of selling chess equipment, if you are after something fancy then check out chesseire
