    Hi all,
I started a new job in November so been there a few weeks now, its only part time and it was advertised as Christmas staff. I haven't signed a contract or anything or been given anything to sign. I don't know when this job is going to end or finish up? Also a lot of days when I am working the manager is not there and there is someone covering for her so it is hard to get time to ask her things? Does anyone know if it is normal for Christmas staff to not sign a contract and be told information about like when they are going to finish?
    Thanks

  • Afaik no they don't have to provide you a contract (yet) as you've been working for such a short period of time. I think if you're a regular employee you have to be given a contract in writing within 2 months of starting, it sounds like you won't even be working for two months if it's just Xmas.

I am surprised they haven't had a contract ready to sign by now usually its before you start job or two weeks in at least. I would speak to them to let them know you are concerned about contract. If its part time and short term they should let you know when you are to finish. At least get to discuss an end date. If it just for Christmas season then might be no need for a contract.
