Hi,

Sorry to start a new thread on this but I couldn't see a more suitable one. Apologies if I have missed, please move if appropriate.

I'm getting an android tablet for christmas and think I'll be picking between two from Amazon.

First is the reputable Samsung 3, 8 inch for £137. I have had an s3 before, I like Samsungs, no questions that this is a good and safe choice.

But then also on amazon we have this, a 10 inch kit for £83. Pretty much an unknown brand but they are sold from the UK and have a UK service centre. Also, it's 10 inch and the reviews are really excellent!

What would you do?

I'd get the samsung. More reputable, better screen, more RAM, better supported for hacking I bet, easier to expand memory...

It really comes down to the money, and that's up to you.

Might I recommend the Hudl2 off Tesco, you can use Parcel Motel to get it ordered here. Of the 2, I wouldn't recommend a cheaper chinese tablet for kids, go for the Samsung for build quality if you have to choose - the software is much better, there are also the 7" kids versions with lots of extras.
