Samsung Galaxy S3 - bluetooth failing

Hoping someone can tell me if this is a fixable problem......

I have a (rougly) 3-year-old Galaxy S3 phone. In the last week or so I'm getting intermittent messages saying "Unfortunately Bluetooth share has stopped". It pops up when I'm on the internet, but I don't think that's anything to do with anything - it's just that the screen is active and I'm looking at it and see the message.

Yesterday the connection to the car kit kept failing over and over again.

I woke up to about 9 of the messages this morning, so it was obviously disconnecting during the night.

I've switched the bluetooth off for now - but can anyone tell me if there's any way of reinstalling bluetooth, or debugging it, or whatever?

I'm afraid I'm hopeless at this sort of thing - I've heard of factory resets and such like, but have no idea what that would do in terms of stuff that's on the phone and sim card - and also no idea if that might fix the problem, which is clearly with the bluetooth app/function.

The phone is long out of contract and warranty, but if it wasn't going to cost a bomb I'd pay someone to fix it - it's a complete PITA not to be able to use the car kit.

Hoping someone on here can help :)

Bumping this to see if anyone knows - can bluetooth be somehow repaired/reinstalled/debugged?

    TIA :)

Giving this one more go to see if anyone knows the answer to my question???

Also (if anyone is reading....) I have another Samsung something phone which I got free as an upgrade - won't be a patch on the S3 but it might just have to do as in addition to the bluetooth problems, the S3 is slowing down to a glacial speed, and keeps knocking itself off (I had the motherboard or insane chip or whatever replaced but it didn't completely cure it).

Anyway, failing getting all the S3 bugs fixed, I could just use the cheap phone.

My question is though - if I just transfer the SIM card over will all my contacts, apps, etc come with it? Is there anything I have to or should do in preparation to switching the SIM over to the new phone? Do I need to make a list of all the apps I've downloaded onto the S3 and then go and get them all again for the new phone?

Obviously my preference would be to somehow get the S3 fixed up, but I'm beginning to despair of that now.

    Hoping someone, anyone, can help!
