This is common to a lot of shooters. Squinting the left eye when shooting should overcome the dominance.Closing the left eye completely looses peripheral vision, when using a shotgun. If you are tired when shooting, close the left eye after mounting the gun and picking up the target. Works for me. Hope this helps.

If your talking about shotguns then your better off shooting off the dominant side. This is easier than you think and many shooters who have shot with the non dominant eye for years adjust easily enough. I have witnessed this in the two clubs I belong to and seen inconsistent shots improve and good shooters become even better.
For instinctive shooting such as shotguning you need to have everything in line and importantly you need your gun inline with the dominant eye. When introducing new shooters to shotguns and pistols you first determine thier eye dominance. There are many sites to Google for this. It is important then to guide the shooter to shoot on the dominant side regardless of left or right-hand dominance.
A day or two shooting clays will develop new muscle memories for the unfamiliar side........try it, it works

    Actually, it is.

I have come across quite a few shooters for which this is true.

I don't think he means two years to come right, I've seen lads become more consistent within an hour a so one day a week over a few weeks. A few rounds of clays will put you right.

Exactly, depends how much practice you put in. Funds were low so didn't spend a whole lot of time on the clays. When I say two years. I really only took a hit for one season. What I struggled with was holding the gun as you walk. Trying to get use to left hand side. Mounting the gun wasn't so bad. It felt more natural than right side. I had a lot going on with my eyes when shooting from the right. Looking back the pheasants I missed from the right shoulder, were inexcusable. So something had to be done.
Saying that at best I will be only an average shooter.
You might get to grips with it very quickly.
But left shoulder is a must I would think.

I have to close my left eye all the time since I started shooting. There would be 2 beads otherwise.

Same as me, some people (I'm one) have no eye dominance. When you focus on the target both eyes will also pick up the bead hence two beads.
    I close one eye also.
