Hi a friend of mine is desperately in search of a Doc McStuffins Mobile Clinic for her daughter but everywhere seems sold out. There is one on Amazon but it is way over the actual price and she doesn't want to be ripped off.

So anyone know where there is one? See one on your travels?

    Thanks!

(Sorry mods if this should go elsewhere but it is not a bargain alert and AH would have a wider audience than elsewhere so might be a better chance but move it if you feel you need to!)

I think I seen one in Ken Blacks toys Carlow last weekend. Might be worth giving them a call

    I'll swap a broken Ps2 for it.

    Oh, you're looking for one...

Wait, is she a registered medical professional?

They are selling for $130 on Amazon. That's not too bad considering they were going for €80 in Smyths and how late in the day it is. It's only an extra €25.

What I did a few years back (doc mcstuffins too)

Located present in toysrus in us, put a request out on fb for any of my stateside friends that may be coming home for Christmas to contact me.

Cue, doc mcstuffins medical kit on Christmas morning for my daughter.

I looked everywhere for this for my daughter, they are really hard to find. There are only a set amount going around.

Try the Toy Box, and try instore places only. When I got mine, the place had only got three in such was the demand amongst other toy stores trying to get them for their customers. Get instore and start talking. Online searching may not work out.

My parents are stateside at the moment but this is rather a large toy and I know they would find it difficult to get home.

Ebay has quite a few, especially from the US, it can still be delivered in time.

If the toy is that popular & scarce there'll probably be knock off versions of it available in the Christmas markets. Possibly with a slightly altered name like "Dr McStiffens" or similar to stay on the right side of copyright law. Kid probably won't know the difference anyway & you'll save cash.

    That sounds strangely arousing.

We just let the kids ask for a surprise. Explain that Santa decides what's best, that he puts extra thought into kids that don't ask for specific stuff.
Has worked great for last 12 years and saves a whole bunch of hastle.

Good luck OP, if you really need this pay for the shipping from the US and look locally, worst case you end up with two and you should easily resell one for cost.

The best gift you could give your daughter is the lesson that she cant always get what she wants.

Just do what Alexei Sayle would have done - give them an empty box and tell them it's an Action Man deserter.

That's really tight. I feel genuinely sorry for the child in this scenario.

I feel sorry for the kids who won't have any dinner on Christmas, or the kids that are missing their parent, or parents on Christmas morning, or the kids that'll be in hospital for Christmas.

It's a toy, at the end of the day. Perspective. Yeah it'll be lovely if the child can open it on Christmas morning, if not, im sure the child will get through such a traumatic experience.

Leaving a popular toy til the last minute and then complaining the child's Christmas will be ruined if they don't have it? Melodrama much.

Some-one is relaying a message to the ether, to make a friends child's christmas ?

Well here ye go... happy Christmas kid.

And if a kid is screaming in the supermarket because thr mother wont buy pop tarts, do you feel genuinely sorry? If a parent cant afford some overpriced sweatshop made runners which all the kids friends have, do you feel genuinely sorry?
If a parent gives their child the best shelter, food and education they can afford while spending as much time with them as possible, loving them unconditional, encouraging them, disciplining them, reading to them, imparting wisdom to them....then I dont feel one bit sorry for that child.
If a parent gives in to a childs every whim, shoves a packet of crisps into their hands to shut them up, makes them spend the entire afternoon in the pub and frets about what ever worthless plastic garbage toy is in vogue this Christmas as if it is the key to the childs happiness, then I feel pretty sorry for the kid.

At the end of the day Christmas is for children. Just make sure if your friend can't go to the shop on the day the toys available that she orders it online first thing that morning. It should be delivered then no problem.

Available on Smyths from 18th Dec.

You'd get one from eBay but you'd pay through the teeth.

Extend your search to the North, Witchie but don't bother looking on argos, toys r us or debenhams and I have checked already. My daughter is in Uni in Derry and I will be going to Belfast next weekend. Could pick it up for ya and then arrange getting it to wherever in the country you are.

Hope you find it Strawberry - I'll keep an eye out too when toy-shopping soon. If it ends up not possible to find, I'm sure her mum/dad will find an alternative present that's just as good, if not better, and the surprise will actually be a thrill in and of itself.
That's what my folks did when I asked for something they couldn't find, and it worked a charm! :D

They were originally $44.99 on toyrus.com. $130 is scandalous!

It was available on Walmart for $45 earlier but out of stock now.

I would email the seller and ask about express delivery to Ireland. Better still, call them if you can.

list of sellers on amazon (US): http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B00MX81XDU/ref=dp_olp_0?ie=UTF8&condition=all&sr=8-2&qid=1418073858
