So as the title says, with these new laws etc they are trying to bring in about the semi-automatics, I said I would go up to my local gun shop last night and have a look at a few o/u's. I put about 8 guns in total up to my shoulder and 7 of them took me 2-4 goes to get it just right. But I took this Silma M70 out of the box put it together and straight away and every time I mount the gun it was a perfect fit. Now the owner of the shop said he sold over 10 of them over the months and none have come back with any problems yet. Looked at some reviews on the net and as the gun new is €720 I wondered where the "but" would be... turns out its just basic timber and that's where they cut back on the cost. The mechanics of the gun are supposed to be great. Timber wouldn't bother me as it is a rough shooting gun at the end of the day and will be through the wars. Gun comes with 12 month warranty and box of chokes. So I guess I am posting this to see has any of ye had the pleasure and how ye rate them....Cheers

Never heard any bad reports about them, nice looking gun, they are supposed to be put together well(Mechanics wise). Best of luck with it and keep us updated on performance

My first gun ten years ago was a silma not sure on model but it was a good well made gun, 30" multi choke, it was probably 10-15 years old when I got it and I'm sure someone is still shooting with it today.

Normally I would advise anyone new to shooting to buy a good second hand gun as opposed to a new cheaper model, something like a beretta or browning as the build quality is there. However, at the end of the day the fit of a gun is the most important factor. If it doesent fit properly the name on the gun wont make any difference. If it suits you give it a go. At the end of the day there are not many bad guns being produced nowadayg. Best of luck.

Great gun so far lad....but as the lads have said doesn't matter if it isn't fitting you... This gun could have been the worst type gun ever made but it was the only gun coming up perfect every time... It's coming up better then my automatic... Did a 50 bird last week with it... No problems straight outta box

Great gun, my semi-auto isn't getting a look in. Nice and light as well. Timber is as basic as you get but the mechanics are top notch.... There is a review on YouTube about this exact gun. Watch it.

Hi there I'm in the market for a new gun this all sounds good to me , but when you say the wood is basic what do you mean. Is it just design or guality.
I got my 14 year old his first shootgun last year (20b) the varnish is flaking off it already. Would it be like that do you think.
