Just a reminder regarding this offer that, apparently, is still ongoing.

There are some excellent wines already reduced to up to half price up for grabs and to answer the above question, it works for 4 bottles and every multiple of 4 (4, 8, 12, ...etc)

Any update on the Buckfast? :)

Tesco always include sherry but not dunnes according to manager even tho they have 25% signs all over sherry

Does anyone know if this is an immediate discount or is it added to your Valueclub points?
    Thanks

Depends on your taste, but I found that Spanish wines are generally easy drinkable and a good choice

Since you can mix and match with this offer I would suggest you to try 4 different bottles, here a couple I tried myself and that I would recommend:

    Vina San Juan
    Faustino VII
    Sangre De Toro
    Casillero Del Diablo
    Palo Alto

Especially for old wines don't forget to decant them at least 10 minutes before: the taste will be completely different

Tried a few at Christmas and Royal St. Emilion was best - not cheap at €16.50 but hoping to pick up a few bottles at 25% off.

And there you go, I wouldn't be a fan of any of those.
The only Spanish wine I like is Marques de Cacares.

Go French, IMO. If you get a French wine reduced to a decent price (Say €15-20 marked down to half price), you'll generally get a good one.
Go for a Merlot or Cab Sauv for easy drinking, or Shiraz/Syrah for a bit of spice.

Casillero Del Diablo is chilean i think!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 56 ✭✭martini1

and the palo alto is chilean, but not bad wine at the €7 each mark.
i think that tom doorley recommended it a few years back!!

darconio: sorry, thought you were recommending just spanish wines!

I do like your list though, and would recommend the same.

Ive heard the though the least the wine travels, the better!!

No problem at all, here another decent wine below the 10€ mark (Italian this time)

    Tavernello

Can anyone recommend good wines that are available in dunnes?
I know that i can get palo alto there and the monistier (sp?), but Im not sure what good wines they have! if someone knows of a good red or white that is on offer now and can recommend it, and that it would be a greater bargain with the 25% off, i'd really appreciate it it

Does anyone know when this offer ends?

Think it finished either today or yesterday but not 100% sure.

So, is it 24% or 25%? It's important!
